Ryoko Kaneta expresses beings beyond human understanding—such as gods and natural phenomena—through characters of various sizes and forms.
In recent years, she has created numerous works inspired by Japan’s indigenous culture, everyday life, and the subtle presence of the ordinary.
In addition to creating artworks, she has also curated the “199X” exhibition since 2012.
