Ryoko Kaneta Solo Exhibition
“Isles in the Flow of Time”
From Friday, September 12 to Monday, October 6, 2025
GINZA TSUTAYA BOOKS
Ryoko Kaneta’s solo exhibition “Isles in the Flow of Time” was held at GINZA TSUTAYA BOOKS.
The exhibition featured works inspired by the myths of the Munakata Three Goddesses—deities worshipped as protectors of the sea—as well as the landscapes, folklore, and oral traditions of various regions across Japan. These works capture the stories rooted in each place Kaneta encountered throughout her travels.
The exhibition title, “Isles in the Flow of Time,” reflects the sense of islands—and the tales, climates, and human activities that inhabit them—emerging and overlapping across past, present, and future.
The exhibition showcased both canvas works and ceramic pieces, offering visitors an opportunity to experience Kaneta’s distinctive and poetic worldview.
