Ryoko Kaneta Solo Exhibition
“Utsuroi no Nagisa, Kodamasu Miyama”
From Wednesday, August 26 to Tuesday, September 8, 2026
ART GALLERY, 10F, Daimaru Tokyo
Ryoko Kaneta’s solo exhibition, “Utsuroi no Nagisa, Kodamasu Miyama,” was held at Daimaru Tokyo.
The exhibition was inspired by the region of Suwa in Nagano Prefecture, featuring works based on Lake Suwa, the Suwa Taisha shrines, and the area’s natural beliefs, myths, and history. Kaneta visited Suwa herself, exploring its lakes, mountains, and shrines, and created the works based on the landscapes, atmosphere, and memories she encountered there.
The exhibition featured canvas works inspired by the nature and mythology of Suwa, offering visitors a glimpse into Kaneta’s world of invisible presences and memories, expressed through characters of various sizes.
At the event space on the first floor of Daimaru Tokyo, “RYOKO KANETA | Miorinne Collection” was also held concurrently. The collection featured products based on “Miorinne,” a character born from Ryoko Kaneta’s artwork, allowing visitors to experience Kaneta’s unique world in a different form.
